A Community Commitment at Miami Country Day School: Walk with Purpose

Anatoly Petukhov and his family are actively involved in “Walk with Purpose” the annual student-led event to benefit pediatric cancer research.

One of the leaders of this movement at school is Sofya Petukhova. In 2023, students managed to raise about 100 thousand US dollars. This money was transferred to the Heidi Hewes Chapter of the University of Miami WCA, The Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center-Alex’s Place/Holtz Children’s Hospital, and Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital.

The pediatric patients at Holtz Children’s Hospital and Alex’s Place located at the University of Miami’s Slyvester Comprehensive Cancer Center have Benefited tremendously from the generosity of the students at Miami Country Day School through there help, cozy knitted blankets and hats, personalized cards, and items to keep kids busy.

Walk with Purpose is designed to bring together individuals of all ages for a day of walking, bonding, and raising awareness for various causes. Participants walk a scenic route, promoting health, wellness, and social responsibility. Our family is involved in raising money for a fund to support children with cancer. One of the main organizers at the school is Sofya Petukhova. They raised $45,000 in 2022 and $67,000 in 2023. During their existence they raised $1,000,000.
